I know it’s not technically their day and it may be a bit overkill but I always get my mom something for Father’s Day. She did the role of both parents for so long so I feel like she deserves a little something on the day when everyone else is acknowledging their fathers. I don’t go overboard or anything (normally just a floral arrangement) but I think she appreciates the thought.
Anyone else get their single moms a Father’s Day gift (or vice versa if you were raised by a single dad)?

No I don’t. I think it’s a sweet gesture, but definitely not for me, although, from the way you speak of your mother, I think the dynamics of you and your moms relationship, is much different than mine and my moms.

@Cash000: Yea, we’re very close. I can totally get not acknowledgeing her on Father’s Day if the relationship isn’t really there.

Well we have a relaitonship now, but not like yours. Plus, my father is only MIA because of a really bad accident, so although I don’t see him (unfortunatley), it wasn’t by choice he is out of my life, I’m the one who needs to put forth some effort.
And yes, sounds like your moma nd you have a great relationhip, so I totally get the gesture.

I never even thought of getting my mom a father’s day gift. I’m definitely going to give this some thought!
