I seriously considered black leather opera length gloves for my dress, but the ceremony logistics just were not conducive to that look. But yeah, they were far from being “bridal” gloves. the fingerless gloves just don’t do it for me.

I love gloves! Not just bridal ones though either lol. I am wearing gloves because I love how they look, how I feel when I wear them and also because of 2 tattoos that are not at all how I want my pictures to look even though I love them just not in my wedding pics.

I think my mom wore bridal gloves….back in 1977!

It’s a matter of personal style. Not mine, but might be yours! Definitely doesn’t seem as popular these days, but if it’s you and you can rock it, then I say go for it 🙂

NotFroofy and I both wore opera gloves for our wedding.  And yes, we did the ring over the gloves thing initially, though we moved them afterward.

In general, they’re not my favorite. However, I have once seen them executed in a very elegant manner; no one would have called that bride tacky.

All of that to say, gloves can be both elegant and over-the-top, depending on the person and the circumstances.

I’m not a fan of bridal gloves at all.

It can be a very simple and classic look:

I’ve actually seem them done fairly well (that one David’s Bridal ad with the short dress and wrist-length gloves is darling) but I don’t think I’d ever wear them: one more thing to get dirty or keep up with (and the ones where you just shuck off the ring finger bit are too much for me).

Oh.  I wore gloves.  🙁  I have scars on my arms and I didn’t want that to show in wedding pictures.  I knew they weren’t exactly popular but…I felt better with them on.  I guess to each their own.

Ivorybuttons, those are gorgeous! Although I would consider those more like sleeves (armwarmers?) than gloves lol. I don’t like my fingers being covered up, I don’t even wear gloves in the winter usually. But I could see myself doing something like those.
