Great suggestion by PP to get board books for a baby!
I posted before, but I actually just bought a few books today for a baby shower, so I thought I’d update:
– Brown bear what do you see? (Board book)
– Very hungry caterpillar (board book)
– Guess how much I love you (board book)
– Where the wild things are

you can never go wrong with Sandra Boynton. My fave is the bellybutton book. I love giving books. They are truly the gift that keeps on giving. Much better than a onsie they grow out of in a week.

Good Morning Muffin Mouse
I remember my mom always reading it to me, and even to this day she’ll still sometimes say “good morning muffin mouse” to me. I will definitely need it for my own collection when we start to have kids!
Rainbow Fish books were great too, I always loved looking for the sparkly scales!

I loved Dr. Seuss–Hop on Pop, Green Eggs and Ham, all the classics 🙂

My shower next weekend instructed guests to give a book in lieu of a card. I’m so excited to see what books my baby gets. Since cards cost nearly as much as books now, I thought it was a great idea!

I always bring a book to baby showers, and it’s always “Where the Wild Things Are”. It’s my absolute favorite. I read it to my daughter so much she knows it by heart.

YES! I second On the Night You Were Born
. I’ve purchased it for a few friends, and they all loved it. Most brought it to the hospital to read to the baby. It’s a great book for a baby shower gift.

Commenting to follow! Not just for my own future kids’ nursery, but I also like to give books with other gifts for my nephews. 🙂

Thanks for the continued suggestions! I’m going to try to hit up a book store this week, so I’m going to take a list of suggestions!
Does anyone remember the “Litter Critter” or the “Berenstain Bears” books? I remember loving them when I was little.
