I haven’t really found any that freak me out, but luckily my daughter only watches pbs. We watch things like Cat in the Hat, Caillou, and Dinosaur Train. Some are a bit odd, or boring, but at least they’re not strangely out there.

@KittyCupcakes:  I LOVED the Neverending Story when I was a kid. It didn’t scare me, but Fern Gully sure did, haha. I’ve always been a hippie at heart, so I was sad for the tree, but the black goopy stuff really freaked me out, especially when Krista got sealed up with it.

@fiver:  Darling Husband and I were in a store that sells tv sets a couple of weeks ago, and Neverending Story was the Blu-Ray disc they were using to show them off!  And it was that scene playing while we were in the store.  I was horrified!

My husband pulled a saleslady aside and advised them that Neverending Story was made a long time ago, and never meant to be in HD, so didn’t really do much for the tvs and that they should go get the Blu Ray of Tron Legacy instead.

Today’s shows aren’t geared to “children” anymore…

I am glad I am not a parent of a little kid anymore!

I don’t let my kid watch today’s stuff- it freaks me out. We youtube old cartoons – they seem like they are less likely to cause headaches because they are a little slower and quieter, ha!

Elmo’s World… I don’t know why.. something about him having his own world just bugs me. I love old-school SS though!

I really hate Olivia. I think it teaches kids to push their limits with their parents and she’s bratty character.

Dino Dan bothers me too. It’s not a bad show but it’s a little too weird.

I am not a fan of pocoyo. I am watching Yo Gabba Gabba right now. DS likes musical shows so there is a lot of YGG being played here. Mine is still an infant so I haven’t gotten into too many kids shows for this generation yet. We have netflix and hulu plus so if it isn’t on there I can’t watch it. For adult tv the beginning and end of Voyager will stop him in his tracks no matter what he is doing…lol.

I love Yo Gabba Gabba..I used to be frightened by it.

I can’t stand Caillou and I’m so happy Dear Daughter got sick of it.  To me, he’s very whiny.

Wow wow wubzy kinda freaks me out a bit.

@KittyCupcakes: @chasesgirl:  I can tell you that the crew that made The Magic School Bus tv show thought that kids would hate it. I had teachers who worked on it who are still surprised and confused that kids that grew up on it have such good memories about it.
