I have always wanted to go there – I don’t have any real suggestions seeing as I have never been, however I don’t know if you have been to Costa Rica but I lived there for a year and did not do a lot of tourist stuff. It was fantastic. If you don’t decided on Chile, Costa Rica is a great option and I am full of info. Good Luck!

My stepmother is from Chile, and I got the opportunity to go visit her family in April of 2000. For the most part the family live in Santiago, so we spent most of our time there. That place is wonderful! I love big cities, and Santiago is definitely big enough to be exciting. We also spent a day in Vina del Mar, and in Valparaiso, and one day traveling up into the Andes to a (closed because it was early fall there) ski resort. We saw Pablo Neruda’s house. It was totally awesome. My father and stepmother go back every year, and they love the country so much that they are considering retiring there for six months out of the year. Go!

Isn’t Mrs Poodle from Chile?

Have you tried PM’ing her to ask for suggestions?

That looks amazing!  And I’m jealous you got to have a month-long honeymoon!

@ms. rice crispy treat:  your honeymoon looks perfect!  Do you mind if I ask if you used an agency to plan?  Or did you do it on your own?  Did you rent a car while you were there?

Thanks in advance!
