I think Macys has a great selection.  I spent countless hours online searching through it.  I really love what I chose; it’s a bit less popular but super modern and classic at the same time.  It’s Royal Doulton Opalene.

It’s hard to see but it has an opalescent mosaic pattern around the edge and a line platinum line.

My Fiance has everyday china from his previous marriage (from Crate and Barrel).  I would love to register for fine china, but he doesn’t consider it a priority.  Boo!  I like our current china, but it isn’t really “nice nice” for holidays or dinner parties (which we do a lot of).

My everyday China is a Wedgwood pattern.  I would check out their online website, or maybe their outlet stores.   Also there are some very beautiful China patterns that aren’t as common from Haviland in France!  I think they get my favorite current pattern!

I think the best selection online is Michael C Fina-they are a NY store. Neiman Marcus has a great selection as well. I am using a local “gift ” shop. They have hundreds of patterns many of whic are not carried by the big stores like Macy’s and Bed, Bath and Beyond. You may want to check if there is a similar store in your area.

macy’s.  they have a huge selection.  Plus, their fine china goes on sale, which doesn’t happen at a lot of other stores.

i love crate and barrel’s bone china. the problem i have with macy’s is that most of their china that’s shown online isn’t in stores so you can’t see it in person, and while they go on sale frequently, it’s because their prices are so inflated. you never know what price something will be when it’s actually time for someone to buy. people always love bed bath for their 20% coupons!
