Here’s a good inspiration post. It looks like most of the photos, the lanterns are tied up on wire strung from pole to pole, not necessarily on any of the support of the tent.

Paper Lantern Ideas

Otherwise, I would use the search function to see what some of the other Bees on the blog have already done. I haven’t used lanterns myself, but I know a few of the Bees have!

Good luck!

There was a post a few months back, I believe originally from Miss Tiramisu (I can’t find it now) about hanging paper lanterns. Our plan is to use fishing line strung between the poles and then hang the paper lanterns off of that. We have a 40 by 100 tent and I plan on using about 75 lanterns, alternating really big ones and smaller ones. I’m not going for the allover coverage though, and unfortunately can’t find the picture that is my inspiration. The picture that is my inspiration actually has string lights and the lanterns are attached to that, so they aren’t actually lighted but it looks really cool.

This website is where I have found the cheapest lanterns so far http://www.justartifacts.com

I found it! Here is the picture that I was talking about, and this is what I plan on doing with hanging them, I just need to decide if I want the string lights or if I want to put lights in the lanterns.
