@vickiburns:  You can see my experience on my thread “my replica dresses”

I did a TON of research on this (and ultimately ordered my dress from a regular store) but if I were to order online, the only two places I felt comfortable with would be Jasmine’s Bridal Shop and Dressilyme.

    Good luck!

I was a Maid/Matron of Honor for my bff’s wedding and her mom was in China for work and bought all the dresses there. My experience wasn’t very good… and this is even with her mom supervising and breathing down the necks of the seamstresses. The patterning/draping and cutting was levels below what they do when there’s a brand name doing quality control.

I had a bad experience. My dress was poor quality, too short, and not very much like the photo. I blame myself though because I didn’t do much research beforehand to find out who the really good replica shops are. If I was doing it again, I wouldn’t recommend the shop I used, but I would be open to considering some the shops with very good reputation (Jasmines, Dressilyme).

I had a great experience with my dress from Dressilyme.com.  It’s an Alfred Angelo/Maggie Sottero replica (AA has zipper, MS has corset).  It was $240.

Personally, I would rather buy a preowned dress. But I am VERY detail obsessed and don’t think I would be happy with a knock-off.

I loved mine from Elegant Park. I had to look selling when I lost too much to fit it, but I  loved it and had a great experience. That being said, my dress didn’t have any lace and was pretty simple. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

Mine was from elegantpark. turned out nice but detailing not exact at all. And my neckline turned out v-neck not sweetheatt. Somehow it still suited me, just didnt look exact as designer version.

They definitely work well with simple designs.

Mine is Dressilyme – cant rave enough.  This dress they designed for me based on a Maggie Sottero design being the first picture.  2nd picture is from Dressilyme.

@vickiburns:  Hope this is not a double post, lost the one I just wrote.

We received my daughter’s dress from Jasmines Bridal shop two weeks ago.  It ws 100% perfect and extremely beautiful.  The workmanship was just like the $5000 dresses you get in the bridal shops.  Jasmines are now making my MOB dress (2nd one) and the Flower Girl dresses (not having Bridesmaids) as well as a beaded drop veil.

I did a lot of research before choosing Jasmines, not sure I would go with anyone else.  Good luck.

@vickiburns:  You have to submit your measurements.  You need to be accurate and I recomend you get a reliable seamstress to take your measurements.  I emphasise realiable because we did this with my daughter dress and then double checked and because the seamstress was in a hurry she got some measurements wrong.  So do this stage properly as it makes all the difference.  Get your shoes because one of the critical measurements is the length of the dress.

We chose Designer Grade fabric – because the fabric texture was very important for my daughter, we paid extra and had samples sent out before we ordered the dress.

We chose Premium craftmanship – you can’t go wrong with this choice unless your dress extremely complicated or has extensive beading. I trust James from Jasmines, he will advise you.  I followed his direction with my daughter’s dress and it was fantastic.

Hopefully you are not in a rush, because you can save money by keeping to their process timelines.  Keep us posted and we will try and help you.  Also hiheel on the Bee is experienced in dress making and beading, she has been a great support to me.
