I’ve never actually heard about the future bride not being able to attend other weddings. The one I know about is a bride should not attend any weddings within 2-4 month after their own wedding.

That superstition came from the old days when brides typically get pregnant right after the wedding, so it was meant to protect the bride from miscarriages (from moving around too much & getting involved in things).

I believe the superstition is about not attending weddings within your own family within a few months of even in the same year as each other because supposedly if you do, you steal each other’s luck.

The Chinese fortune teller my Future Mother-In-Law took us told us we cannot attend weddings or funerals 2-3 months prior to our wedding.

That’s really strange. I’m superstitious about going to other weddings, married. Each time, within 3 months, my own marriage failed. I will never attend another wedding.
