I went to the tailor inside the Flushing Mall in Flushing for my Qipao. The tailor there were great and he custom fit my dress. I also saw kwas there while trying on my dress. My mom also had her dress made there.

I went to that tailor in Flushing mall as well! He is fantastic. Mrs. Bell Pepper had hers made there as well –

I do have to say, though, while he was the best i found in the NY area (he also fitted my husband’s tux, which was much too big for him originally), his style was slightly different from what i wanted. you can see from Bell Pepper’s photos in the post above that he fits the dresses well but leaves a lot of room. I wanted mine more form-fitting (i.e. tighter), and he all but threw a fit and was very resistant to the idea. In the end, I had to have my mom explain exactly what we wanted and the attitude he showed me when I went back was nothing other than foul. HOWEVER, that being said, his fabrics and craftsmanship are grade A.

hahaha mrsbear I believe the tailor spoke about having a "difficult" bride to my mother and i. He said he had a bride that needed half a dozen fittings. I’m sorry he wasn’t more considerate to your request, because after all, the dress has to fit to your liking, not his!

My dress fit like a glove and I had room to sit and dance too. Sorry for the poor pic, but it’s the best shot I have so far (can’t wait for prof pics!)

Hope this helps! Good luck Ada!

I agree, the tailor in the Flushing Mall is great! He made my mom’s dress and has a very nice fabric selection. His work is superb though everything requires at least a three week minimum.

there’s a nice one in chinatown.  don’t remember the name of it but it’s on centre street, right off of grand street (between grand and hester to be exact).
