So… anyone heard of that superstition about not attending another wedding? Just wondering if anyone can clarify this for me.
Is it …. you, the bride, shouldn’t attend someone else’s wedding after your own because your good luck will be stolen?
Or… is it because you will give the other couple bad luck?
Or is it … someone who is getting married after you shouldn’t attend your wedding because it’s bad luck? If so, for you or for them??
This is driving me crazy! 🙁

I believe it is that you are stealing their luck.

Oh, wow, I’d never heard that one! I hope it’s not true, because I’m rescheduling our honeymoon just to attend my best friend’s wedding. I would hope that the love just rubs off all around! 🙂

The superstition is you are not supposed to attend someone’s wedding if they are getting married the same month as you because you will be stealing their luck.

Whether it is the same lunar calendar month or solar calendar month I’m not sure, but I can ask my parents if you’d like

Would you please ask for me?
I’m getting married October 18th and my friend is getting married November 8th. 🙁
It’s not technically the same month but within 30 days…. does that count? Hmmmm…

My understanding was it 30 days (not necessarily the same month).
I only know this because there were two weddings: October 14th and Sept 23rd – and the Oct 14th couldn’t attend the Sept 23rd (Because of the superstition issue).

It’s true that you should not attend someone else’s wedding if you got married before her and within 30 days.
It’s generally good not to go against the tradition and it did no harm to you if you follow it.
