winterwedding17:  If you are having a more casual wedding, then that sounds awesome! If you were planning super formal, it might be out of place, buuut it is delicious so I wouldn’t complain 🙂

I love the idea of tacos and burritos, but Chipolte is disgusting 😁🙁

We love Chipotle and I think it would be fun at a wedding.  They have enough choices to still work at a fancy wedding too.  It’s not like they will be wrapping it in foil.  If you think about the awful dry chicken and pre cooked steak served at most banquet halls this is a huge improvement in freshness and taste.

winterwedding17:  FWIW, we will be grilling and having bbq at our reception 🙂 When we were considering a larger wedding, we were going to use chipotle for “late night” food.

I think it’s a great idea! i love chipotle so I would def. eat it buttttt maybe everything else for your wedding shouldnt be fancy. If you have a more care free wedding more of a rustic type of look then it would go with the theme but if I went to a fancy wedding and then got served chipotle it may be a bit weird. at the end of the day its your day and you should do whatever makes you and your husband to be happy!

OMG YES I;d go and I’d look forward to it, and I’d be the first in line and I’d love it!

Another vote for Chipotle is NOT spicy. Not unless you ask for the red salsa.

Aaaaand I’d like it whether I was in a floor length gown or a tea-length dress.

honestly, I would side eye the crap out of that. not because of the casual food, but because it’s a national chain. as a guest I would be way happier to see tacos from a local restaurant.

in addition to that, chipotle just had that giant E. coli debacle. so…….

winterwedding17:  Due to a really small budget, another bee here ended up hiring an In n Out truck for her backyard wedding. I told my SO about it and he said that’s his dream reception food.

I’ve tried lots of food, that”s how I know something doesn’t work.  Plain or nothing.  I can’t even do onion FLAVORING. We are tallking plain roast chicken, broiled steak or hamburger. Or if  feel like being adventurous maybe  broiled pork chop. As you can guess, I’m a real pleasure to dine with.

I think it’s totally cool to have fun budget catering but Chipotle might turn some people off just because of the recent press.  I’m not saying they will actually poison anyone, but what are the chances you have guests who will not want to eat it because of that?  It will also definitely be a topic of conversation the entire dinner (again, not that it’s a budget caterer, but that they’ve been in the news so much lately), so be prepared for that.

We thought about having Chipotle at our wedding. However, our local Chipotles didn’t offer delivery, so someone would have to pick up the food. We were concerned the food wouldn’t be fresh by the time we were ready to eat, and we weren’t sure if the provided chafing dishes would cut it. Otherwise, I’d be just fine with Chipotle at a wedding.

Backyard wedding with burritos? Fun!! Ballroom with burritos? Odd. Just be consistent in your planning–casual food/casual wedding. Enjoy!

I’ve done Chipotle cattered for a bridal shower I hosted as well as a casual party, and everyone loved it. I would elevate it by using nice containers and making the buffet look nice.

samira86:  exactly. I wouldn’t be afraid to eat there for lunch — I trust that they have done their best to fix their mistakes. but for a wedding? no.

winterwedding17: it’s not about the actual threat, it’s about the reputation.  prepare yourself for lots of e. coli jokes. is that how you want people to remember your wedding?
