I genuinely don’t understand the obsession with chivari chairs. No one cares what the chairs look like and I bet most folks can’t tell you what the chairs looked like at the last 3 restaurants they visited. You can’t eat a chair. Take the generic chairs the venue offers, or if the venue doesn’t provide chairs then get some el cheapo rental chairs and spend that $5-10/person on food or drink.

I was shocked at how much these chairs can be to rent. Thankfully the venue we decided on has them on hand so we don’t have to pay. If we had to rent we would’ve gone with something less expensive.

Horseradish: Let’s not get judgey here.

I wanted Chiavari chairs too, because our venue’s chairs are stained and ugly, and if I could have gotten them for the same price as a cover/sash, I would have. This isn’t some restaurant, this is someone’s wedding.

meghan.plebaniak:  can’t help but hope you find some!

I think Chiavari chairs add elegance and class to an event.  They were a must-have for us.  You can find them for rent at most party rental places for $5-10.  They look fantastic, and really put the decor up a notch over generic chairs from most venues!

janereaction:  nothing wrong with wanting to replace stained chairs with nicer looking ones. The thing that really gets me is the insistence on the chivari name, which offers no value beyond that any decent chair would offer, despite the premium price.

it’s like insisting on Perrier Jouet champagne (top notch, expensive brand) then dumping it into a champagne punch, when really any cheapo brand will be fine for punch since the dominant flavor will be juice.

I laughed so hard at the title of this. If only I could buy a chair that came with chivalry.
