We had chocolate fondue instead of a fountain. Fountains are icky in my opinion, you never know who is sticking their nasty fingers in there…especially if you’re having kids at your wedding. I don’t have any pics of our spread, but we had brownie bites, little rice krispy treats, shortbread cookies, oreos, marshmallows, pretzels, and probably some other stuff.

Our venue offers it as part of the Venetian hour (Which we added to our package)

Those fountains gross me out honestly. I just think of all the germs and I’m sure im not alone.

But if you want it, go for it!

They had one at brunch two weeks ago…. oh my god. YASSSSS! Now I want one for my wedding. It was amazing. Plus those who are worried about germs can just eat the dishes with out the chocolate, they are still yummy.

The chocolate in those is never as good because it has to be thinned out so much. You could do pots of chocolate fondue sitting out and it will taste much better since they don’t have to add all the oil to it.

I remember being a waitress when I was about 16/17 at a wedding with a chocolate fountain.

I remember all of the kids wanting the chocolate and then wanting to hug the bride in her nice white dress…

Chocolate covered bride put me right off the idea for my own wedding. XD

I think of them as kinda unsanitary …

Also, they smell kind of like feet… I think it has to do with the warm milk they have to add to achieve that consistency. I used to work at a fine dining restaurant where we would set up a chocolate fountain for special private events, and it totally grossed me out. Plus, ya, germs.
