ah yikes! That’s a tough one…..how MUCH more amazing is the guy with the attitude? Can you post links to both their pages?? Also, how large is your wedding (trying to determine if 2 photogs is necessary vs 1).

@MrsLulu:  Gotcha. Ok – have you asked each photographer to show you entire wedding albums that they’ve shot? My sis (who shot weddings here and there on the side) recommended I do this and it really made a difference. Each photograpgher will post their best work on thier sites. You want to be able to view entire album of any particular wedding to see how many WOW shots there were.  I know this doesn’t help you decide between the attitude / non attitude thing…..but it might give you a better idea of which one you like more.  Personality of the photographer is HUGE – but in the end amazing photos would win out for me unless the guy was a complete jerk or something.  I had the TOUGHEST time deciding on a photographer…..so I feel your pain.

Personally I’d choose #2.  If I was ticked off by my photographer because of his or her attitude or demeanor then it’d probably show in my pictures.  I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve.  Let’s face it, no matter how amazing the photographer’s work is, the photos would still be not so great if I was upset by the person shooting the pictures.  My connection with my photographer was a huge part of the selection process.   I only met with two in person (loved them both) but the selection process actually started during the email contact phase.  I paid attention to the vibes I got from different photographers because that was important to me and I knew it would reflect in my portraits.

For photographs to turn out well you need to be comfortable with your photographer. I voted for photographer #2 because you sound like you are more comfortable with them on a personal level. They are who I would choose at least. 🙂

If you’ve seen both complete albums and its that hard to decide between them from photo standpoint…..then I’d say you should go with the couple.  I know….above I said maybe go with stunning photos unless guy was jerk….but it sounds like work is really close in quality. (see this is why I had tough time! lol)  If that’s truly the case, go with the couple. Feeling comfortable makes a big difference. Photography is soooo important. Just make sure you LOOOOOVE the photos!

@MrsLulu: For me, a second shooter was mandatory.   I wanted as much of my wedding documented as possible.  So maybe that could be what pushes you to decide?  With the couple you can have one photog getting pics of you and your Darling Husband while the other photog captures your guests and the details.

that is a good point….how critical is second shooter to you? I don’t know if you mentioned how big your wedding was. Mine was very small so second shooter was not absolutely necessary.

I hate that you are kinda still drawn to #1’s pics. Man!  Any way for you to talk to other brides that have used him? Is he on Yelp by chance??

I would choose the 2nd one.  You will get a lot more photos and options because there are two photographers.  You don’t want to look back at your pictures later on and be sad because of your emotions toward the arrogant guy.
