I don’t see why it’s tacky… I think ushers seating ppl will get the same results, so do whichever you want

Just had our daughter’s wedding this past weekend and she had this sign up.  It was perfect!  No one was confused.  If we heard any comments at all, it was that people LOVED the idea.  We had 200 very happy guests that sat where they wanted to sit!

I am working on my sign right now- I’ll show you a picture of it but it isn’t finished yet and i might even re do it…

anyway my mom said the same thing but I think Fiance will have alot more people then me show up even though I invited more! Just how it is! So I liked it for the same reason as you plus I think it shows major unity…

i guess my wedding was “tacky”. we had a sign something like that for the wedding. then at the reception we didnt do assigned seating and had another sign stating that we are all family now so no seating plan.

Not tacky but not for me.  I’m traditional and like the idea of walking up ‘my side’ and back down my husband’s ‘side.’  The wording on the sign makes it sound bad for wanting that.

I think it can be really cute! One of my friends made a sign for the ceremony (the groom’s family is really small) but somehow it ended up behind a table at the reception! As long as people know, I think it’s great!

She did also do open seating at the reception that was actually REALLY confusing because there was still no sign and no direction whatsoever! I think we spent a solid 5 minutes trying to figure out what was going on! As long as it’s clearly articulated (whether via sign or word of mouth), I say go for it!
