I have a question….my fiance and I are stuck between two DJ’s. We like them equally, but one is 23 and the other is probably mid to late 30’s.
The "older" DJ obviously has more experience and is about $300 more expensive.
The "younger" DJ was great and the only thing that is holding us back is his age , which is difficult because my fiance has his own business and started out at a young age and he was grateful to the ppl who gave him a chance and overlooked his age.
What should we do?

I think the most important thing about a DJ is their style and how comfortable you are with them. For instance, we interviewed a bunch of DJ’s from all backgrounds, but we decided on one that was close to our age and started of DJing at High School Parties. He’s made a business out of it. We heard samples of his work and seen videos of weddings he’s done and decided he was the one for us. I think picking a DJ is very important because guests remember 2 things at a wedding…the food and the music. If the DJ is good, he’ll be able to feel out the kind of atmosphere you are trying to create and go with it. Age really shouldn’t be a consideration. Afterall, simply because someone is older doesn’t necessarily mean they are more experienced…they could have just started later. Perhaps you may want to ask them how many weddings they’ve actually worked at and if you could get some referrals from them. The best way to see if they are the ones for you is to speak with past customers! Good luck!

Interesting question. we interviewed a few DJs and one was older and we were thrown off by that. We ultimately went with who we connected with the best.
