I have three friends I absolutely know I want in my wedding party. There are other girlfriends as well. My fiance has three friends and his brother that he would like to ask to be in his wedding party. However, I know my mom will freak if my brother is not a groosman. Should we have five on each side to include my brother? Or should we go down to three and give our brothers other duties? Help!?!

I don’t think your sides need to be even. Go with whoever you two actually want on your side with you. Before we cut it down to either nobody or just one, we each just picked who we wanted individually and ended up with four on my side and two on his. Also, have you thought about your brother standing up next to you? (That could probably still be four on each side if you’re going for symmetry)

I’d most definitely include your brother. I think he’d be hurt not being a Groomsmen. You can easily have an uneven bridal party, if you don’t feel comfy inviting another girl. But if there’s anyone that you’re close to and find to be reliable (super duper important, trust me) then see if they’d like to join the fun. I like even numbers so that’s what I’d do.
