- Wedding: May 2011
Hi ladies! You all were so helpful last time I posted on the boards, I figured I would come back to pick your brains. 🙂 I have such a hard time visualizing things, that its hard for me to make decisions. I just want everything (and everybody) to look nice and have fun.
My wedding is in a few months, inside of a 1930s style theatre. The theme is great-gatsby-ish inspired. I am wearing this dress (http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_All-Over-Lace-A-Line-Gown-with-Obi-Sash-CWG365_Bridal-Gowns-Shop-By-Designer-Oleg-Cassini), assuming it comes in on time :(. My two BMs are wearing floor length gowns from DB in marine. My sister/MOH is most likely wearing this: http://www.unique-vintage.com/navy-beaded-chiffon-pleated-criss-cross-prom-gown-p-9947.html).
Now I just need to decide what to put the groomsmen in!! My Fiance is wearing black pants/black vest, with an ivory shirt, and a black tie (w/ ivory flecking). I don’t want the groomsmen to match exactly, and I want to work in the marine color somehow…but since they are not wearing jackets, I think it will look odd to have black pants and a marine vest and tie. I was thinking black pants, black vest, and a navy blue shirt (since I don’t think you can get a shirt in the exact DB color). What color tie would go with that? Should I set the best man apart since my Maid/Matron of Honor will look different? Or should I put them in the marine vest and tie anyway? I am also thinking about getting fedoras but I don’t want them to look too costumey…I refused to put my girls in flapper dresses (first thing everybody asks when you say “1920s”! :P)
Sorry for the length, I appreciate any help!
