There were a couple things I was sure of but most of it came a little at a time from just figuring out what mood I wanted and what we both loved. It has always seemed crazy to me to use music you’ve never heard before. I’m a huge music fan and have close to 7000 songs in my iTunes. I knew I could find something–even if it was a new mix–that would work. We went for VSQ for our processional and the Beatles for our Recessional and a mix of stuff we loved for the ceremony and reception.

I am right there with you…I have spent COUNTLESS hours listening to potential ceremony music….it’s getting a bit ridiculous.  Still waiting for that AHA moment!

My Fiance and I have always had obsessions with music, so it hasn’t been very hard for us to find things we like and want to play. I found the song I wanted for the walk down the aisle very early on (before we were even engaged….) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAAdQ7Thank You96o, but it does need editing, to take out the middle slow part.. we don’t have enough people to fill that up. I come in at 2:45!) and he quickly thought up a hilarious song for the walk back. Our first dance song is still in the works, though. The playlist is being built little by little, every time we hear something new that we like, or remember a good oldie.

I think it’s really hard to sit and think of a bunch of songs. There are some definite ones we wanted but to pick the rest I keep a pad of paper and pen in my car and write down songs that I think could work when they come on the radio…..there are a ton of articles for sing choices too, those helped me also.
