Hi Bees,
I want to order my veil today…there is just over two months to go and it’s about time I get it.
I’ve been looking at Etsy and have decided on a laced edge veil. I’m just trying to determine what length to go with. Fingertip or Knee length.
I’ll be wearing my veil just above a low bun with a hair comb above it…yes like Twilight breaking dawn, but my comb is three roses to match the rose lace pattern on my dress.
I’m only 5’4″ and I am wearing flats so I do not want to get lost in veil, but many girls my height and shorter go with catherdral length, so maybe this is not an issue.
So here is the veil I am thinking of (I also like that it is under $60. I am cheap.) It is pictured in the knee length.
This is the link to the sitehttp://www.etsy.com/listing/56995763/wedding-veil-sassafras-42-inch-knee?ga_search_query=lace

Or does anyone have any other opinions. Shorter? Longer? No Lace?

Hey, me again, I personally wouldnt do lace, maybe a ribbon edge or pencil edge, I think a lace edge might compete with the lace on your dress, it’s a very beautiful dress and the shape is perfect for you figure, but I would go with something simpler in just about any length but shoulder, waltz or chapel, but if you really love the lace edge go for it! It’s not as though it looks bad I think it’s fine I just think simple would look nicer on pictures

Actually after having a second look, I think finger tip length would be my fave

@Silver Plum Fairy: I agree, your dress is beautiful and the lace is a feature.
I am not really keen on the veil you have selected as the lace just ends at the model’s wrist. Looks like they have run out of lace, sorry.
With such a beautiful dress, I would go with a raw edge or pencil edge if you want to define the veil, and it is really calling for a cathedral length, if not I would go with fingertip.
Are you wearing a sash or belt?
You look stunning in the dress.

Yes I am wearing the sash. It’s quite blingy. Ahh I am confused now…

@Silver Plum Fairy: No need for confusion. Take your dress to a bridal shop and try on a few veils to see what you like.
Alternatively, go to your cheapest fabric shop and buy some tulle – the cheap variety and just have your mum or bridesmaids hold it up for you while you look in the mirror.
With the blingy sash and all that beautiful lace on the dress, you need to think what you like best.

Okay what about this one ladies, but longer. It’s simple with a pencil edge

@Silver Plum Fairy: Much better. Remember you have paid a lot of money for the dress, so pick a veil that has the same level of quality or it will stand out – negatively.
This new veil really looks great. Also a little bit of bling on your hair, just like in the photo, will match the bling on your waist.
