Yes it seems too good to be true. Of all of these ideas, I am thinking the plain platinum band is the safest bet. I just wish there were some photos of this combo online, and I wish I could get over them not sitting right up against each other.

@tolunda: oh god whatever you do – don’t buy one from ebay – sure fire way to get a fake gold, fake diamond ring.
I have a solitare as well – I am thinking channel set band or just a plain band…you have such a georgous ring, why take away from its beauty!
I’m also not a huge fan of the yellow diamonds…they might make your solitaire look like its a lower colour grade.

I think a plain platinum band would be amazing with a stunning ring like yours! It deserves to be unhindered by any other stones or other frippery 😉
The most I would go for would be something like this:
This one is expensive – but if you bought loose small moissanites (the smallest ones available, ideal for this ring, are 12.5$ each) and found a jeweller who worked with platinum, I am sure you could get much lower than that 🙂

@Dell79: I like those a lot for sure. Although I am starting to think they would be better on my right hand. Maybe for an anniversary someday 🙂

@tolunda: i have a fancy yellow as well! and trust me i feel your pain!! i tried on everything in many many stores. for some reason i wasnt sold on anything with diamonds white or yellow. i was torn between a platinum estate ring and yellow gold filigree etched ring. we only bought the platinum one for now since it was an estate and the other can be made at any time.
also since1910.com has yellow diamon pave rings. they cost 1000 but if it would make you happy i think its worth it. personally id suggest white diamonds so your yellow really pops
heres a poor quality photo:
heres the yellow gold ring ill have:

i am with you but mine is white gold… we spent literally hour and a half in side a jewelry store yesterday trying to have some idea of what i wanted… fiance gave me permission to switch diamond out in to a new ring with has the little diamonds around it.. but the more i sat there thinking bout “destroying” his rind the more i was against it.. so we are back to square one… why is ring shopping so hard. lol

@getting_hitched: Not everything on eBay is a scam or poor quality, or a “fake.” People need to do their research whether they go into a mall store so they don’t get ripped off for lower quality goods (many of which aren’t even certified) just as much as they need to educate themselves for online purchases. Blanket statements really aren’t acceptable.

@Diet Coke: blaket statements aren’t acceptable to who…
For the record if you review my statement it wasn’t a blanket statement. A blanket statement would have said “don’t buy anything from ebay, because everything on there is fake”…thats not what I said…I said it was a sure fire way to end up with a fake….totally different from a blanket statement. I can guarntee that there are tons of people on this board that have bought fakes from ebay, thinking they were real, myself included – sometimes research dosn’t cut it with online purchases.
Ebay has a very large selection of FAKE and/or KNOCK OFF stuff, they do however have a large selection of real stuff…do you want to take your chances… I know I wouldn’t.
I would never buy something that I was going to wear on my hand for the rest of my life off of ebay, and my opionion is that noone else should either…but its just an opinion, not a gun to your head order.
I stand by my OPINION that you should not buy your ring from ebay.

@exuberance: Those are super pretty! I had been avoiding the Tiffany website as I assumed they would all be too pricey. When we were talking about engagement rings and looking, I went on their site and watched their little Yellow Canary Diamond video. It pretty much will hypnotize any woman into wanting one!! I think their web designers might be hypnotists… 😉
About the ebay thing, I see both points. It could be real, it could not be real. Same with many jewelers. I think sometimes you have to pay a little extra money for that guarantee that they are real. I’ve been going to J. Brooks to try them on, which is a little jeweler here in our Gateway Mall, but they sell Simon G. stuff and Hearts on Fire which can be a little pricey, but I feel quite sure they would be real.
I went today and took some pics so I am going to try to figure out how to post a poll to get some votes. Again I really appreciate everyone’s help!! A million thanks!!
