If you’re not ready to have a baby, but you want to get married and make love to your husband, then you should absolutely be on birth control or use condoms.  It’s the only responsible choice!!

I am a Christian, and I have very traditional views. My Fiance and I are both virgins and we are getting married in 3 weeks…yy! I just started my birth control this week…so I can relate to what you are saying. Personally I think people like that are stupid.  She says God will keep you from getting pregnant if he wants to…but shouldn’t the opposite apply too?? I mean, if you are taking birth control and God REALLLLY wants you to get pregnant, I’m sure he could make it happen…lol. People like her annoy me bc I feel like God also gave us common sense and the right to make wise choices. I mean, I bet she puts on her seatbelt in the car, and looks both ways before crossing the street right?? That’s bc God wants us to use our common sense and be safe in life.

Obviously you aren’t ready to be a mom, so the best choice would be to use birth control. There is nothing wrong with that. I think it is wrong for people to pop out babies that they have no way to take care of. It is unfair to the child. Take a look at the Duggar family from TLC. They preach all of that nonsense, but there is no way that they are able to love and nurture all of those poor kids. They probably don’t spend individual time with them bc there are soooo many. If I were their kids I would be upset bc the older kids are left to take care of the dozens of younger ones. That is unfair bc a kid should be a kid…not a co-parent!

I think it is a form of emotional neglect when people have that many children bc it is hard to give each one the attention they need. Also, the families end up on government assistance bc they can’t afford to raise their children. I don’t think they should be given handouts. They knew they were not going to be able to afford 20 kids before popping them out, so they should not expect sympathy. It’s called a condom…they should use it..haha. They should not be able to pop out these babies knowing that they have no way of providing for them.

But as far as your friend goes, tell her she needs to wake up. She is going to end up stuck at homes raising 20 children. It would be miserable to be young and trapped like that. Doesn’t she have other goals or something else she would like to do before starting a family?? I think you are doing the right thing by taking BC pills. You are getting your education, and working on betting yourself so that you can be an awesome wife/mom some day. That is the responsible thing to do.
