I met my fiance on Catholicmatch.com

I joined with a month free trial and wasn’t into the whole online dating thing. It turned out to be a great resource and I found a wonderful man!

I can’t say anything specifically for christianmingle but I had a good experience with Christian dating sites.

I was on christianmingle, christiancafe, eharmony and match.  Met my Fiance on match.  All the weird dates/guys who look nothing like their profile pic….from the christian sites sadly. So I would say I had not so good experiences with them.

I met on Fiance on eharmony, but I know my aunt has meet some good people from christianmingle (the relationships didn’t work because of her, not the men).

I know nothing about Christianmingle and did not even hear of it until recently, long after I was married. However, my Darling Husband and I are Christians, and we connected via eHarmony.  From what I read, Dr. Neil Clark Warren, who founded eHarmony, is a Christian, but eHarmony also serves clients of other faiths and belief systems.

My favorite things about eHarmony include that it requires clients to complete an approximately two-hour-long profile examination before being officially enrolled, that it matches clients based on 29 different personality and values traits, that it allows clients to add many other screening criteria themselves, and that it offers a “guided communications” process so that “open” communication does not take place until after you have a chance to screen a match in several ways, including by asking some very probing questions and until you choose to progress to the “open” communications stage.

I know a couple that met off christianmingle – they loved it. I met my husband on match.com. You get crazy people on any of the sites, it’s just a matter of finding one that works for you. I did eharmony for a bit and all the people it matched for me were totally not at all what I was looking for, but I know some very happily married couples that met on there.

Never used christianmingle, but I’d guess it’s pretty much like every other site.  Some awesome guys, some creeps, lots of in between.  I think every site it mostly the same.

Except eHarmony.  I did their quiz and they wouldn’t accept me.  I won’t like, it’s one of the reasons I stopped dating for a long, long time and was borderline suicidal after the hit to my self esteem.  I would never suggest trying that one.

@starrynight:  Wow.  Did eHarmony provide you with a reason? I once heard someone else say this, too.

I can’t say but I had in the past used: Chesmisty.com, Match.com, Plentyoffish.com, and zoosk.com with no luck..

I actually met my Fiance thru FACEBOOK, if you can believe that, he was friends with my best friends husband..

A little different but a story for the kids for sure.

@lakamo:

I never did that website, but my cousin in Denver is dating up a storm since she joined ChristianMingle. She says she has gotten far more matches on that website whereas she got nothing on E-Harmony.

I, on the other hand, hit the jackpot on E-Harmony… that’s how I met my husband.

Awww… I’m sorry that happened to you! If it makes you feel any better, it happened to me too. I tried to sign up for E-Harmony maybe 5 or 6 years ago? I was rejected! They sent me a message saying something like, “Sorry, but based on your responses to the personality questionnaire, we don’t think we have any matches for you right now.”

I was mortified! I felt like such a reject! I was in my 40s at the time, and had lost a lot of faith and confidence in the whole dating scene… that reject notice from E-Harmony seemed like the nail in the coffin at the time.

It took me about three more years before I tried again. The second time was the charm. My Darling Husband was literally my first match.

I’ve never been on ChristianMingle, but I met my fiance through AveMariaSingles (a Catholic singles’ website).  Clearly, it worked pretty well for us. Tongue Out

Best of luck to you!

@misspeanut:  Same here with Eharmony.  And all of my matches were not guys I was attracted to.  The one guy that sorta looked cute in his pics, that I agreed to email and chat on the phone…..turned out to be this weird guy that still lived with his momma and collected mallard ducks….no thanks, lol!

I just liked Match because I could freely look at profiles.  At the time it seemed like more people were on match so I figured would be more potential dates.  I was very, very open about my faith and the importance of it in my life on my profile  too.

I gotta say though, I got some HILARIOUS but weird emails.  I wish I would have kept them(tips to those online dating…keep the weird and funny emails for entertainment value later on).

The one I wish I would have kept….this guy emailed me and told me that his 2 cats snuck online while he was asleep, stole his credit card and set up a match acct.  Then they saw my profile and told him the next day he needed to contact me cause I looked like a good mom to them.  LOL.

By the time I went on a match date with my now Fiance, I was kinda getting frustrated with online dating.  Didn’t expect anything to come out of our date at all….mainly just went cause he offered to take me to his church and I was looking for a new church and figured this was a way to check it out without going by myself.  And now I’m marrying him in  like 5 weeks 🙂
