I ordered bulk blank cards to thank our guests. I too was late but not a year. I would start writing them now. It’s overwhelming but do it in chunks of 5 or so. You don’t have to write a letter just a small paragraph. 

I like the idea of a writen note inside the Christmas card. So separate from the Christmas greetings. You can get stationary at the dollar store or Amazon depending on how strapped you are for cash.

Take care of the thank you notes this year–better late than never–they don’t have to be letters, a few thoughtful sentences will suffice. You can worry about holiday cards next year.
