@MrsLongcoatPeacoat: I think you’re safe haha! Kids don’t see the use in getting socks as a present, socks are things your mom is supposed to buy you anyway when you’re at Target or something. But my husband LOVES getting socks, underwear, undershirts, razors, manly body wash. Always a good gift choice!

My mom always gets my Fiance the socks (amongst some other goodies), she buys the best kind and he literally looks forward to them EVERY year… always around November when his sock stash is getting low he mentions the socks that he will be receiving from my mom.

@MrsLongcoatPeacoat: ya, nice work socks a def good. DH loves when I get him socks and underwear also.  He buys the crappy whatevers on sale ones, and I buy the nice work ones or the super soft Calvin Klein ones.

we just get lamer and lamer with hints when it gets closer to christmas.

“I’m so sick of this phone case.”

“I could really use a new phone case.”

“I want a new phone case.” (eliwhit buys husband phone case he wants.)

“Please get me a phone case.”

“did you get me a phone case?”

“Okay the one I want is this one (picture).” (husband shows eliwhit a different phone case than what she already bought.)

Hahahahaha my SO did something similar to me.

I bought him stuff from Eddie Bauer that he’d like and picked out what his Future Sister-In-Law would buy him (secretly coordinating with one of my gifts and he’ll figure it out)…we’re walking around the Eddie Bauer store and he’s in one of his moods where “all you do is buy me stuff that you want to see me wear, nothing that I pick out for myself is good enough for you blahblahblah whinewhinewhine”

What a dummy! lol

ROFL. Oh my goodness, your Fiance is too funny.

I actually love getting socks too. My Father-In-Law used to get me crazy Christmas socks every year until he passed away.

I can’t keep secrets to SAVE MY LIFE. Seriously – we give each other an ornament every year. I happened to be rerouted to the Atlanta airport while traveling home in November and stumbled upon the perfect snowglobe snowman ornament, which I planned to pretend was something I got for myself and hide from him until Christmas.

First thing I did upon arriving home was give it to him to open. *headdesk*

Oh, and I blew it on his real Christmas gift (a Wii) by mentioning using it for Netflix when we were with a group of friends who all know what I got him. Fortunately, he’s used to my utter fails at this point so he just turned his head, gave me a funny look, and kept walking. Bahaha.

About a month ago SO broke his floor jack (i think thats what its called) So I got a great deal on a new one i planned to give him for Christmas…two days later he calls me from the store, “can you look up xyz floor jack, i wanna know reviews before i buy it” I told him it was to cold to be working on his car and he should wait to buy it…his response “Oh sweet you bought me one for Christmas, can I have it now?”

Then, he puts on his Christmas list slippers, he has really big feet and we have a hard time finding comfortable slippers that aren’t expensive. Well i caved in and spent a ton of money on a pair over a month ago. He gets a package in the mail yesterday…its slippers. When I asked why he ordered them he told me it was because he returned his coat (apparently lands end will return broken merchandise no matter how old it is!) and got a giftcard so he just bought them…i gave him a funny look and he says “looks like after the 25th i’ll have 2 pairs”

 ahhhhhhhhhh oh well lol

We don’t get Christmas presents until after spring semester starts. We get some “living expenses” sent to us and its the only way we can afford presents. Usually they’re pretty good though!

My boyfriend thought I was weird for buying underwear for people for Christmas, so I’m sure he’ll be delighted with the boxers I got him…  But that was on purpose!

He asked for a warm coat, so I bought him one, then the next day decided to go shopping and had me help him look at coats.  Thank goodness he didn’t find one he liked, though, because I was going to be so annoyed!  I put on my best helpful “let’s find you a coat!” face, and I’m pretty sure he has no idea still…
