Hey Bees!
I am in the process of getting all of my Christmas gift lists going. Boyfriend and I set a $200 cap on our gifts…just like last year. Except last year he totally went over. The thing is, my boyfriend is a very simple person. He hardly ever buys himself anything, unless he can get it for a great deal. He’s not great at telling me what to get him EVER!
In the past, I’ve gotten him:
-a dress coat
-a g shock watch
-nike id sneakers that he designed
-clothes
-movies
etc.
I want my gift to him to be an awesome surprise. He loves sports, especially the phillies and university of tennessee [where he did his graduate work], he likes doing things so a trip or an adventure would be cool, but nothing is good for $200.
That’s where you come in!! Pleaseee share your ideas with me. I welcome all of them!

Bf gave me a list this year, on it was fishing gear, a dart board, stuff for his computer, etc.
Is he into games, you could buy him the latest ps game, cologne, clothes. Just throwing around some ideas here.
Goodluck!

Could you get him tickets to a sports game? My fiance really likes the redskins so I bought tickets to go see a game at fedex field. They were like 250 with parking pass. I stalked ebay for a while to get them though.

Get him a watch! lol, I got Fiance a watch last year and it was way too big for him. We had to go to the jewelrystore to get links taken out! 😉 While we were in there we looked at engagement rings!

Does he like art? A painting either a replica of a famous one or a local artist?
Does he do much traveling or just need a new carryon roller suitcase?
itunes gift card or some nice small speakers that can be used for a computer or traditional receiver?
some sort of electronic? like electric razor, DVD player,
Does he like to read? An early addition of an author he would like.
a portable grill for tailgating for sports games. and then tickets to use it at (or as his family to get the tickets)
Would he like lessons of some sort? Snowboarding? Cooking? Wood carving? personal training classes?
Tickets to a concert?

hmm well i don’t know if this would work but maybe you can bypass the $200 cap, by splitting an amazing trip to Philadelphia to see a game between Christmas and his birthday? granted that will only really work if his birthday falls between now and the regular game season.
i would give him, a nice card describing how you plan on taking him away for a couple of days, and how you’ve already got the car/flight (i’m not sure how you prefer to travel) and hotel ready. but definitely add that the even bigger surprise is the location! (meaning he doesn’t know where your taking him). and considering you might want to give him something tangent as well, maybe a new carry-on size bag or a nice pair of leather gloves?
then hopefully for his birthday you can grab tickets and then let him know that you haven’t forgotten about that Christmas trip and off you two can go!
p.s. i always keep a running list of things he says he wants/ need through out the year, so when it comes to gift-giving time I at least have an idea of what he wants. and try to include funny things he may have been kidding about too! it shows that you pay attention to him and gives you guys a chance to laugh, which is something i feel we all need more of!

Maybe if there are any upcoming concerts/plays/sporting events he’d like to attend you could get tickets? Another suggestion is an iPod (if he doesn’t have one already!)
