Good idea! We’re just doing stockings this year, but I still managed to go a little overboard lol. He’s getting an Axe body spray set, a Georgia Bulldogs leather wallet, a few cd’s and dvd’s, a thermal tee, and a sweater.

I bought Fiance a bunch of small-ish things.

An 8-bit tie (the one I got him is red):

A badge for work with a caffine molecule on it:

Origami Post-its:

RTFM Shirt:

Rock, Paper, Lizard, Scissors, Spock shirt:

Dried Ghost Chilis:

And a nutrition scale:

Phew!

Socks and underwear. Seriously. Tongue Out

But, he specifically asked for the socks. And it’s kind of a joke that I always get him boxers for Christmas/birthday/anniversary/all the time.

I also got him running shoes, new work pants, and a shirt and tie.

I think my Fiance are the only couple I know that doesn’t get each other gifts for any occassion.  We used to do annual massages every year for Christmas, but since being in grad school we stopped that tradition (too expensive).  For birthdays, we take each other out for really nice meals.  As we say, “we like to give each other experiences, not things.”  So this year for Christmas, we’ll say Merry Chirstmas and that’ll be that.  I love it because he’s a minimalist and I never know what to get him… Also, he bought me the only thing I wanted two months ago: an engagement ring πŸ™‚

I got my Fiance a watch for the wedding which I’m holding off on giving him though it showed up a week ago and I’m having a hard time not giving it to him LOL. I got him other things he needs for the wedding for his Christmas gifts (a white silk tie/ a black button down shirt and a beautiful black belt) so alls he needs to find after Christmas is a black vest! I also got him some special coffee πŸ™‚

@pandaboo: I think that’s a great idea! I love buying my SO gifts that are kinda personalized to his interests.

This year I got him a new HD computer monitor, the next book in the book series he’s been reading, some new shirts, and a mason drinking jar with his initials engraved in it. That last one may sound strange, but I know he’s really gonna love it. For the longest time he had this mason jar that he ALWAYS drank out of, but I dropped it on the kitchen floor and broke it a few months ago so I know he’ll really like having a nice new one!

Since we’re low on funds, and cause we’re saving saving saving for the wedding..I got him little stuff that he needed..like some pj pants, robe, and some body wash…i was trying to find a good shaving cream (one that warms up as you put it) but didn’t have much luck..so that’s next..and then I think I’ll be done. =)

@Goodatlove: mine always gets socks and underwear from both of our mothers…every year. I think he would be offended if I bought those for him! He looks forward to it!

I got hubs a digital camera. Mine is old and we’re going on a bunch of fun trips in the next few months…so he can document!

As of today I am starting to panic about this very thing because I was under the impression that we weren’t exchanging gifts because we finally bought a bed (at the time it was “a Christmas gift to ourselves”)…. meanwhile, I am still unemployed and he told me he feels like he has to give me something – even if its very small, but won’t give me any money to buy him something!  In the past I’ve handmade all of his gifts, and I’m acutuially waiting for more supplies to come in the mail but even if they arrive tomorrow, that only gives me about 5-6 days with him not around that I can make it!  I tried telling him he wasn’t allowed to get me a gift if I didn’t have enough time to make him one, but I think he went ahead and did it anyway!  Not sure what to do aside from work like a maniac when my crafty things do arrive.
