What is everyone’s thoughts on Christmas proposals? My boyfriend and i have set a budget of $150 on eachother this year as we have gone overboard other years and we are wanting to save for a house. I know he has bought an e-ring and i am wondering if he proposes to me on christmas, is that my christmas present? If so i feel bad that i am only spending $150 on him but he is spending close to $4000 on me! Do you think an engagement ring should be a christmas present or a separate thing all together. If he proposed as my christmas present i wouldn’t expect anything else!

If he’s already bought the e-ring I think they are two seperate things. 🙂 Who knows though, a proposal would be the best gift anyway.

I think you’d be so focused on being engaged that an extra gift isnt going to matter, and Im sure your Fiance will be so happy if you just say yes, and i doubt he expects a 4000 gift. Sending good thoughts your way! Good luck and dont forget to update 🙂

I got engaged on Christmas Day. I didn’t know about the ring beforehand. I thought that my gift to him was awesome with a spa giftcard from his favorite place. He totally outshined me that year. He also got me “Mamma Mia” because he was afraid that the ring wouldn’t arrive to my parents’ house in time. It arrived on Christmas Eve before we left to see my Aunt and celebrate at her house.

If I got my proposal, I wouldn’t care if I didn’t have any other presents for the next decade, that’s how much I want to be engaged/married to my SO 🙂
Don’t feel you need to justify the big expense he’s making, it’s a token of promise and his love for you, you could always buy him his wedding band/a nice watch or other gift in return to level it out if your sure it will be your Christmas gift this year?
