I have no idea what I’m getting him. My SO’s birthday is two days after Christmas, so I try to get him two gifts. All he wants is expensive car parts, and with me not working right now and us having to go back to my hometown this February for my sister’s wedding, that doesn’t seem very doable for me at the moment. I’ll figure it out though.

@Tarheelgurl:  Mine too! It’s always so hard as if he wants something he normally buys it for himself anyway and then to have to get two gifts so close together!

Much thinking required.

I do a lot of handmade christmas gifts so I usually start my projects around Septmeber or October. I shop for the few store bought gifts that I get all year. Just whenever I see something that I think someone will like, I grab it and put it in my cedar chest for safe keeping.

I haven’t complete decided what to get my husband, but I do have some ideas. My main challenge will be narrowing them down to something I can afford and he will like the most:

  1. Nice/professional-looking watch
  2. DVDs of his favorite new movies
  3. Model airplane (he’s a big aviation buff and I think he’d like the opportunity to build something too)
  4. A nice whiskey drinking set (glasses and decanter) and a really nice bottle of whiskey.

I have NO idea what to get Darling Husband this year.  Last year, I was full of ideas, but unfortunately used them all up.  Like a PP said, it doesn’t help that DH’s birthday is a few days before Christmas, so I have to come up with two rounds of gifts for him.

I’ve already booked and paid for my SO’s present. It’s a full day photoshoot with a renowned photographer here in our city. She does amazing work and makes it a really fun day with props and different locations. I can’t wait and I really hope my SO enjoys it and loves it too. As for everyone else (family, friends), I have no clue.

SO has had his eye on an iPad for awhile, so I’ve started socking away money to get him that.  We don’t do gifts on anniversaries and only small things for birthdays if anything at all but try to get each other one really nice thing for Christmas.  🙂

I have a $50 budget or so because I am really broke (poor college student here), so I’m making my SO this thing I saw on pinterest:

I’ve been saving a bunch of stuff all year just for this.  I’m also going to finish (i.e. start) his scrapbook of running and biking races and then buy him a few little things.  Haven’t figured those out yet, though.

I have all my SO’s gifts picked out already! I’m excited to give them to him because they’re all things he’ll love, but are inexpensive. So we both win.

-A 10 bucket punch card to the local driving range. He has been wanting to practice more.
-Hunger Games (on blu-ray and with the digital copy ..he wants both for some reason.)
A Fun. t-shirt (his favorite band at the moment).
-This silly gnome statue (http://www.footballfanatics.com/COLLEGE_Missouri_Tigers_Home_Office_And_School/Missouri_Tigers_Fan_Gnome_Bench) — He saw a Mizzou gnome a few weeks ago and loved it, so I’m excited to give this to him.
-An iron skillet. He commented this weekend that he’d like to have one.
-This is silly but I used to have one of those scalp massager things (http://www.amazon.com/Tingler-Therapeutic-Scalp-Massager-Massage/dp/B0006VSX1Q/ref=sr_1_11?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1351619476&sr=1-11) but I lost it, and he keeps telling me to find it so he can use it. So I’m going to order him one. He’ll get a kick out of it when he sees it.

I’d too love to hear what everyone is getting. I always like getting new ideas.

I’ve already started and plan to be finished by November. My family is pretty easy to buy for though I’m an only child so I don’t have any siblings to buy for and my parents don’t want anything because they go on holiday for Christmas. So I’m cooking them a Christmas meal before they go.  We (SO and I ) are going to get dollars for one another for our holiday in April and I’m going to fill a stocking for my SO, We’ve almost finished the homemade hamper for his parents. His siblings are yet to get back to us but it is only still October. It’ll probably be an Amazon voucher, a charity donation and little geeky gadgets for each one, we are not very adventurous.
