lifetimegoals :  You could decorate the old fashioned way with popcorn garland, cranberry garland, cinnamon stick bundles, spiced orange pomander balls ( oranges piereced with whole cloves in a design) DIY ornaments etc

How to make spiced orange pomander balls

Remember to check your local Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace, both for inexpensive decor and for items people are giving away.

I like to make ornaments out of Sculpy. Make sure you put a wire in before you bake it in the oven. Popcorn or cranberry garlands as PP just suggested are a good idea. Or paper snowflakes.

Edit: just saw about the dogs, never mind the popcorn!

If there’s an Ikea near you, they have pretty, affordable ornaments. They’re simple but they get the job done! And then you can build your collection of nicer ornaments up over time. Happy decorating!

lifetimegoals :

The dollar store and 99 cent stores have TONS of holiday decor and ornaments.

You can get packs of the sparkley ball ornaments for $1-$2. Garland is there, too. Pretty much everything for the tree except lights. Get lights from walmart, target, amazon and look for stuff on sale.

I got a TON of cute stuff at Big Lots last year! We were living in our fifth wheel traveling for my husbands job and it felt so cozy with our tiny tree and fake fireplace. Lol! Please note the kitty photo bomb πŸ˜‚

lifetimegoals :  WHAT??!! I love Big Lots!!!! Lol! The pillow was from tjmaxx, and so is the elf on the back of the sofa. A few of the ornaments are from Michael’s too, but the majority I got at BL. You don’t know what you’re missing out on girl!
