My husband won’t let me put ours up until the day after Thanksgiving.  He says it doesn’t do the Thanksgiving holiday justice otherwise, which I can understand.  But I just love Christmas!

Usually the weekend after Thanksgiving or the next weekend depending on how much time we have and how close to December we are.

growing up we always put the tree up the night before Thanksgiving (no decor), then decorated after Thanksgiving dinner. my mom liked to have it around for a long time.

Since then, I’ve had 2 trees. The first was a homemade tree I made from a cardboard box and wrapping paper and hung on the wall. Then last year, Fiance and I closed on a house the day before Christmas Eve. We bought and decorated the tree on christmas eve, which i think will be our new tradition.

We wait until a week and 1/2 into December. It was a tradition when my mom was little that they would do it on my gma’s b-day. We’ve always done it around that time.

Wow! We don’t put up ours until Christmas Eve and we take it down on January 2nd. For us it is always a family event on Christmas Eve to bake cookies, put up & decorate the tree and sing carols & pop popcorn in front of the fire.

The first weekend in December. I love having it up as long as possible. Don’t care about it being up once Christmas has passed. We take it down about a week or two after Christmas.

I usually put my tree up the first weekend in December and take it down the weekend after New Years.  I would put it up the day after Thanksgiving if my SO would let me, but he’s a scrooge! ๐Ÿ™‚

My family always put our tree up over the long Thanksgiving weekend (but never on Thanksgiving itself).

We like to get real Christmas trees so we can’t put it up until first or second week in December.  I wish we could put it up right after Thanksgiving, though!

We’ll be putting ours up the day after Thanksgiving this year.  Growing up we always had real trees so they couldn’t be out that long.  FI is allergic to pine and we live in an apartment building, so we are limited to fake ones for now.  I love Christmas, and especially Christmas lights! So pretty!

Now I am excited, and I may have to refrain from listening to Christmas music! ha

The day after Thanksgiving ๐Ÿ™‚ it’s been a family tradition for years

However, last year, my Fiance and I moved in together and our furniture that we ordered was several weeks delayed so we had nothing except for folding chairs in the living room…so I inisted on putting up the Christmas tree ๐Ÿ™‚ It definately cheered the place up.

Well, because our dogs like to eat our lights and ornaments, it won’t be going up this year but I will be decorating the 2nd weekend in November!
