I have a round stone in a cushion halo. One of the reasons where there is a gap can also be where the stone sits. My FH had mine sit a tiny weeny bit taller than the halo and it caused a very tiny gap. I am not really crazy about it, but I have come to accept it. I am not a fan of double halos, and I have seen very few that’s excecuted well. I think your 2nd revision without the gap is beautiful! I would play with possibly an enhancer or a stack.

I on team wear it for a couple months and see on this one. I think it’s super possible to always be wanting to change just “one more thing”. See how it settles with wearing it for a while. I’m also a big fan of buying extra bands or spacers and adding to your look that way without altering your ring over and over.
However, personally I dont think a round is the best recepient for a double halo or a chunky halo. I think contrasting shapes of the center stone vs the melee are less likely to get “lost in the sauce” as it were.

I personally like chunky halos. I like your previous set, but a tighter halo, if that makes sense. I’m not a fan of delicate halos at all

I love your new setting. I would not go with a double or chunkier halo. I have a delicate halo that I’m thinking of removing because I love the focus of one stone, but like you, I’m worried it will feel so small, in comparison. I think your new setting is gorgeous, honestly. I wouldn’t change it.

I think you should change the shape of your center stone or maybe do a solitaire with an enhancer band…I have a double halo, it’s not what I would’ve picked but I ended up really liking it!! Mine is a 1 ct cushion cut and I agree with pp’s that the double halo sometimes makes my center stone look smaller, although from far away it sometimes looks like the first halo is part of my center stone

Your ring is already big and blingy. I feel that if you add anything more it will look too busy. You have slim fingers, any more coverage will dwarf them

Hey everyone so i just wanted to give a quick update. I decided to go ahead with the double halo! I know it’s not to everyone’s liking but I wanted more finger coverage and it was the only possible way to do that right now. Below is the third (and final 🙈 setting) and I am so happy with how it turned out! (Ignore the nails ha ha) hanks a million to everyone for help with this!

And for anyone who might be interested here are all three (yes three!) variations! All beautiful in their own way it has to be said, and everyone will probably have a different favourite version but for me I am so happy with number 3 and delighted I persevered!

I’m glad to see you around! Are you still enjoying your new reset and have you decided what you want to do with your band yet?

I actually don’t mind this double halo. It is my favorite of your 3 looks. I went through much the same with my halo. It took 3 tries until I got it the way I like. The first two were cushion shapes on a round and the gaps in the corners made me crazy so I just went for the round halo to eventually get the tighter fit against the center stone. It is a chunky halo but I like that it doesn’t look like everyone else’s and gives it more of a floral look. Third times a charm, as they say!

still enjoying it so far! I keep looking at it and that is all i wanted from my new ring – to be excited by it!
thank you. Definitely third time was a charm! Rounds are so hard for cushion halos aren’t they but I love the look of them (of course the fact that all the pics I pintrested were 2+ carats didn’t help my vision ha ha) In hindsight I should have gone with a cushion shape from the beginning!
ive now moved on to a three stone RHR as I want to use the 2 leftover diamonds from my original ring. I have them set as earrings but never wear them so they are wasted! Once that’s done my ring adventure will need to stop for a year or 5 ha ha!!

oh haven’t deceided in the band position yet. I’m going to keep wearing both ways until I see which one grows the most in me!

Your ring turned out beautiful! The most important part is that you love it!! Congratulations on your final setting!!

That halo is very well-done. As long as you’re happy that’s the only thing that counts!
