I have no idea how different it might be in NYC, and to a certain extent I think it depends on the design of the chuppah, but ours from a florist in SF was $500.

NYC 700 from florist was simple fabric and the groomsman held the poles.

yeah chuppahs are expensive. the lowest quote I received was $500 in nj for simple freestanding rental-now flowers, hand held, 4 poles and a tallis cover-very basic. My dad is making one for $50 from home depot (he’s pretty handy) and he said it would be relatively easy to make.

lantana:  If you are going to have a florist do flowers, I would set up a few appointments to shop for a florist and you will be able to ask what they charge for a chuppah. I got married in weehawken, nj and my florist is based in Hillsdale. I dont remember the cost of the chuppah without looking at the contract, but I suggest that you think of as it as a portion of your flower budget (if applicable). Hope this helps.
