I think it depends on you and the church. If the church already looks nice and has decorations of its own then I don’t think you need to add much. Pew bows are fairly easy and you can do them on every other pew, but they are definately not needed. And during the ceremony everyone will be looking at you, so who needs decorations there? The only other space is the table that has the programs and guest book. Maybe something small there, even if it’s just pretty programs layed out to look nice. But I agree, there is no need to spend much time or money on decorating a church, especially if it’s already a pretty church to begin with.

I feel the same way, I really don’t care about decorating the church. I’m going to go minimal and just put some small vases on the ends of the alter.

The church we married in is a beatiful, old church, with gorgeous stained glass, a chandelier…

The only decoration was a modest flower arrangement for the altar.

Most wedding that I have been to have the guest book at the ceremony. Some people will sign at the ceremony, some at the reception. But if you want to do it only at the reception, that woudl be fine, just make sure people know it’s there as I would assume there was no guest book if I didn’t see one at the ceremony.

My church is so beautiful already, and it’s round and very open, so decor can easily get lost. I am putting one nice floral arrangement at the front. Not even doing pew bows because of the unusual shape of the church.
