crackktheskyy:  We donated $200 to our church. We do not currently attend the church on a regular basis, but it is the church that I grew up in and the church we attend for special occasions when visiting my family.

It’s different by areas, I would ask others that have been married there if you can, if not and you feel comfortable asking, ask the minister what most people do. If neither of those are options, then really it’s whatever you feel comfortable with, in my opinion $150-$300 is plenty.

Round up to $3,000.00. Just my $0.02. (no pun intended)

Yep. I’ve got 6more weeks of his attentions. Gotta milk ’em for all they’re worth.

And, btw, you could consider a silk flower arrangement of white lillies or something for use somewhere in your ceremony, and ask if you can gift it to them afterwards. That way, it’s a tangible donation as opposed to a monetary one. You should be able to request the contact # of their chariman of the decorating committee, to discuss the option and confirm if they have a need in that area.

Ah, then you’re already given the appropriate donation in their fee schedule. No need to round up or anything, really.

Any additional gift/donation is simply your own preference. I’d not even worry about it now. Maybe, after the fact, send a nice thank you card and an additional $ gift if they went above and beyond for you or some similar generous service.
