- Wedding: June 2012
So, lo and behold, our chosen pastor decided he won’t be available to do our wedding. My fiance is Catholic (but not super hardcore or anything), I’m United Methodist. My family goes to a Lutheran church. We love the pastor there, but the church has denied me Communion before because they claimed since I’m Methodist, I don’t take Communion seriously. SO offensive. Anyhow, we chose a Methodist pastor, but since we can’t do it there, we’re talking to the Lutheran pastor. How would you bring up the fact that you want to take Communion on your wedding day but are offended by the church’s stance that you don’t take it seriously? Has anything similar happened to you?
