the venue where we are having our wedding reception also holds ceremonies. (they just rearrange the room during cocktail hour) anyway I was wondering to the ones whom have gotten married in a church was it worth it? Ive always wanted to get married in a church but i feel as the venue ceremony will be much more convient on time and stuff. Also I want t play non tradiotnal music and a lot of churches dont allow that i would have to find one that has a sound system and will let me play the music i want (its nothing bad) but not the typical ava maria, bridal ression etc. Oh and one more thing the venue charged an extra 900 to get married there. SO CONFUSED. Which would you choose?

I think that unless you have a church you have some kind of ties to, I would have it at the same place as the reception.

Where do the guests go during cocktail hour? If there’s adequate space and you do r mind a rearranged it’s probably easier to do everything in one place. That’s what I’m doing, however luckily they have separate rooms for everything.

@lauranes99: It sounds like you would prefer to have the ceremony at your reception site, so that’s what you should do!
For me, I’ve always wanted to get married in a church (even though I’m not particularly religious) and I also prefer having a separate room for everything (as opposed to “flipping” rooms) which is why I picked a church for my ceremony.
