@julana:  How much are their prices?  I did alot of digging around when searching for my own DJ, so I have a good idea of what is real and what’s not.  I didn’t use Cipriano, but I’m pretty sure I was in contact with them – I think they charged a travel fee, so  I didn’t end up booking them.

I think our DJ was $695 and that included a few uplights and dance floor lighting.  Audio Extremes is who I used.  I just wanted to give you an idea of pricing.

@coffeegal85:  Thanks for the reply and the information. Were you happy with your DJ from audio extremes? How much time did they give you for that price? Here is what Cipriano Productions has listed on their website for the package i want.

PREMIUM PACKAGE –  OUR BEST SELLING PACKAGE – Live Classical Guitar for your ceremony music, live jazz for cocktail and dinner music and a professional, experienced, well groomed, upbeat DJ to get your guests up, dancing and partying the night away.

Package includes-Classical Guitar, Jazz Trio, one of our well groomed, upbeat, professional MC/DJ’s and access to our unique on line planning system.

6 hours

$995.00
(includes lighting and access to our on-line planning system)

They have great reviews on weddingwire.com and a few youtube videos of performances but i’m still kind of leary.

@julana:  We had them for 5.5 hours, but we didn’t have them play our ceremony music or have live people play during cocktail hour. I liked  Audio Extremes, and would recommend them, but they are just your basic DJ.

Comparing the two DJ packages, your price is probably right on par, and not too good to be true.  I would meet with them in person and get a better feel for them; that’s what I did with my DJ.

Marino Brothers, which is highly sought after, is a little over $1000.  You get a 2 DJs for that price, and a bunch of DJ dancing.

So again, based on the pricing that I do know, I think you should be good.  That’s just my opinion based on the facts that I know. HTH!

Good luck!

@coffeegal85:  Thank you so much for all your help and reassurance. I really appreciate it! As you suggested, we made an appointment to talk with them in person to get a better feel. Smile

We ended up nixing Cipriano because their prices seemed too good and…they seemed very gimmicky and had a very strong sales push. The combination of the two turned me off to them.

We ended up booking with On the Mike, which is charging us a $750 flat rate for the night and brings their own dance floor LEDs. We obviously haven’t had our wedding yet, but the owner, Brian, has really great communication and is really friendly and flexible, plus their reviews are great.
