I love shakespeare garden. My Fiance and I have gone to a ton of events in SF. What are you looking for reception venue wise? View, history, architecture, lounge?

We looked at Terra Gallery. It’s pretty close to the bay bridge, but you could do a lot with the space. I think the rental space fee was about $2,000?

We are getting married at the Argonaut Hotel. It’s not downtown, but it’s a great venue and super reasonable for the location.

I really liked the Film Centre on the presidio. We booked at the Log Cabin, mostly because my Fiance loved the outdoorsy feel. I loved the Green Room, but they have a loooooon waiting list.

Try the Golden Gate Club in the Presidio and the Officers Residence in Fort Mason and the Maritime Musuem.  We were looking in SF for something indoor/outdoor too, but eneded up going out of the city for something more woodsy.  Golden Gate Club would have been our first chiuce if we had kept our wedding in the city.  A good friend had her ceremony at the Dutch Windmill and reception at the Cliff House.

Of course!  happy to share info to help another bride!  We ended up look ing outside of the city for something more affordable and all inclusive.  We  ended up booking with the Forest House Lodge outside of Auburn in the Sierra foothills.  We LOVE the Lodge!!!!!  They are an amazing venue.  My fiance wanted an outdoor forest ceremony and we both wanted a party that didn’t have to end at 11p or 12a.

Not sure why the Green Room only books a few months a year, I’m guessing it’s the off season for the arts there. The Beaulieu Garden is beautiful, but expensive. Golden Gate Park is amazing too. Cavallo Point is close by and very pretty, as well as being an all in one venue.
