I’m looking for a officiant/celebrant/Judge/Justice of the Peace in NYC. We really do not want to spend more than $500. We are not religious.
Does anyone know how /who to contact at City Hall for a list of judges/justice of the peace who can marry you outside of the courts? Thanks!
Or: any recommendations for someone under $500?

Not sure if it is the same in NYC BUT….
We went to the city clerk who actually gave us a list of officiants and it turned out that she is also a Justice of the Peace who charges only $100. Also ask around, maybe some of your friends/family members know someone – we are actually have a 15min ceremony in which a local Reverend will be performing the ceremony (a bunch of friends have used him).

I don’t live in NYC right now so can’t really just walk into the office to get a list. I could ask my family to but if I can get a list somehow without having to ask them I would prefer that. They’re super busy and work long hours etc. So anything to not have to add more to their plate.
I’ve actually been looking for a little while, researched online, asked friends and family. Eliminated a bunch that were too $$$$ and have a short list now of affordable ones. Just looking to add a couple more contenders to the list.

- Wedding: May 2010 - The Pierre Hotel
We are having Rev. Jim Covington officiate at our ceremony – we are not religious either, but he can do non-denominational/non-religious ceremonies. When we contacted him last year, his basic rate was $425. Not sure if it’s increased since then, but I don’t anticipate it would have increased by much.

Our officiant is non-denominational/non-religious.

We met with Kelly Lemons and really liked her (although we decided to go with someone else) and she was under $500. She also seemed pretty flexible.

Their pricing is $375 and they are situated in LI, but I believe they will travel. My wedding is going to be non-denominational/non-religious.

I’m not in NYC and I’m not planning a NYC wedding but I am planning a Dallas wedding from California. Since I can’t fly home to do wedding research I had my mom do the research on JP’s for me. Do you have anyone that could look/ask for you?
