I think it would be really nice of you to pick up the cost of a limo or bus to accomodate everyone! Driving in the city is tough on a good day, nevermind parking. A limo might be tough since you have 25 people, but maybe a bus would be a good option. If you could find a bus for a reasonable price, I think it would be a nice gesture on your part to make attending easier for your guests.

But, Is public transportation not an option for you and your guests? It seems like it would be the best option so neither you or your guests have to incur the extra cost. Not necessarily cabs since that would end up being costly, but LIRR, or the subway?

My brother got married at City Hall and my parents parked at a garage that was about a block away, so there is parking nearby. Honestly, you might end up majorly stressed with getting everyone onto the bus on time – that’s something I don’t want to deal with.

@NYCBride2011: Eh, people commute from Long Island to lower Manhattan every day, and the LIRR is easy. I would let people make their own way and worry about getting yourself organized and downtown on your wedding day!

I think your family and friends won’t mind making the commute since attending a loved one’s wedding is something that you really look forward to and would gladly go out of your way just to witness such special event.

Or, if you want you could hire a one-way trip from NY back to queens. So at least, your guests won’t have to worry going home and would discourage them to bring a car. So that takes the guilt off the parking and gas fees. And you wouldn’t feel as bad with them taking the train or public transport.

Dont worry about it! They’ve expressed that they would be fine taking the train.

Congrats!

@NYCBride2011: I’m looking at similar transportation issues, but for more people.  Would you mind telling me the bus company that you found?  All these companies sound so shady

We did this in December – I think you should not feel guilty about transportation – we just had everyone make their way there – except for my parents – we picked them up some took the train the others drove in – I parked about two blocks away and just paid for parking – we had about 15 ppl

then we walked to a restaurant for lunch

@NYCBride2011: Great, thanks!  Not City Hall, but my venue will be outside Manhattan so will likely have to arrange transportation, sighhh
