- Wedding: October 2009
my fiance and I have been planning a traditional wedding since we got engaged but have mentioned the idea of just waiting until my dress arrives and having a courthouse wedding with 2 witnesses and my photographer, and keeping our October date for a reception/celebration for the people that mean a lot to us. I’ve got some emotional attachment to some elements of ceremonies, like my dad walking me down the aisle because I want him to feel included, etc.
I also think that a very private ceremony would be fitting for us and we don’t really see any need to wait to be married. (when my fiance proposed he said "I couldn’t wait any longer" and that really reflects our relationship from the beginning-we knew!
I’m thinking about having the marriage blessed on the october/party date with our close family and friends but not as a re-enactment, but acknowledging that it’s a blessing. What do you think?
