(Closed) Civil wedding vs. Religious Ceremony dates?

We did ours the same day. However, my parents had a religious ceremony in one country then had a legal ceremony in the U.S. months later. Since the religious ceremony was more important to them, they considered themselves officially married before the legal ceremony.  They think of their anniversary date as the religious ceremony. My mom doesn’t even remember what day exactly it was that they made it “legal”. Pick the one that means the most to you and do that first and remember that date. Don’t stress out about it.

This is a tough question, because it depends on your country and personal circumstances… there may be legal reasons, cultural reasons, religious reasons, or simply practical reasons to have one ceremony or the other first…
