Congratulations. πŸ™‚  My opinion is, of course, biased because we have the same ring set, but your engagement ring is truly beautiful and I’m glad that you’re so pleased with it!  Your sapphire is stunning!  How are things with your future mother-in-law now?  Is she still giving you a hard time about the ring?  If she does, at least you know that you have a gorgeous ring, exactly what you asked for, and something that is packed with sentiment and meaning. πŸ™‚

@SuzieMG95:  YAY! *Claps* πŸ˜€ I knew you wouldn’t be able to part with this ring when it arrived. lol  The other ring was beautiful too but this was the one you truly wanted and asked for.  I’m really glad that your fiance finally told his mother to stay out of it, though!  And you’re welcome. ^_^  I’m glad you have a ring that you love as much as I love mine. πŸ™‚

Wow, I love the look of your ring – especially as a set! SO and I are fairly traditional (and will most likely go with a RB solitaire), but maybe I can get a Claddaugh down the road as a RHR! Would it be proper to wear it as such?

@somethingaquamarine: The wearing of a Claddagh ring is an Irish tradition and it has an established meaning based on the specific way it is worn.  Since you have an SO, the proper way to wear it right now is rightside up on your right hand, but if you become engaged, you are supposed to wear it upside down on your left hand (like the OP in her second picture) and then rightside up on your left hand when you get married (like the OP in her third picture).  Of course, you CAN wear it however you wish, but not wearing it according to custom may confuse people about your relationship status.

@MoonlightRose:  Ah, thanks! SO is Irish-American, so I thought it would be a cute nod to his heritage. I’ll have to reconsider getting one after marriage, then.
