Colt State Park in Bristol, RI (http://www.riparks.com/colt.htm) is a beautiful venue and I think they allow clambakes, but I would check with the state park people of course; they probably allow you to be there but I’m not sure about actually digging a pit in the sand and doing that whole shebang. The park is super large and has beautiful views of the bay and there are a ton of different lots (also some of the lots have things like volleyball nets if you want that too). Sweet Berry Farm in Middletown is also a nice site and they have a lovely open field for events but they are not directly on the water if that matters to you.

I think McGrath Clambakes does clambake catering as well if you’re looking for it, though they might be pricy. You could see whether one of the local clamshacks (like Flo’s or Evelyn’s) does catering for clambakes, I think I’ve been to a few events that were done by them for about 20 people –I doubt they do the full-on pit digging though.
