Glad you asked this: I have been meaning to ask the hive about the Clarisonic. Although I just saw an old thread with not so great reviews. 🙁

Hopefully you will get more input.

I have one.

I have mild to moderate adult acne, and it has helped. I think the keys are not too use it too often and to clear the brushhead a lot. It’s easy to just use it, shake it out, and let it airdry, but that keeps bacteria alive and ready to reinfect your face. I use mine once a day (in the evening) with the seaweed line from BodyShop. I find that washing my face twice a day in general, but especially with the Mia is too harsh, and though I resisted that change, it was a great thing after a few days.

Oh, and I clean mine by pouring hydrogen peroxide on it. Bleach will ruin the plastic, and I’m not convinced that soap is enough to clean all the bristles down to the bottom.

I use the sensitive skin brush head and once a week the deep cleaning.

I absolutely love mine. I still get a few breakouts here and there but my face looks so much better! It’s noticeably smoother too.

I like mine, but if I had to do it all over I’d get the cheaper Oil of Olay one. It makes my skin smoother so I think it helps with absorbing my lotions/serums, but haven’t noticed a change in tone, pores, break-outs etc.

@BoiledPNut:  Nothing actually reduces the size of your pores, but they will look smaller if they aren’t clogged, so having clean skin is th key to the appearance of smaller pores.

I have one and am not very impressed.  WAY too expensive for little-to-no results, at least for me.  I really need to clean the brush better, that might be my problem (so thanks, @mrsSonthebeach: for that tip!), but even then, I don’t think it works with my skin or something.  My skin is fairly sensitive, something I never really knew until lately, and I have moderate acne, mostly on my chin.  I feel like my whole face dries out a ton after using it, too.  I started by using the cleanser that comes with, which was fine, but didn’t really do much, then switched to my Murad cleanser, which seems to work well typically for me without the Mia.  With that it dries my face out a bunch, though.  I’m still trying to make it work for me, though, since everyone else and their mother seems to think they are the greatest thing!  Probably need to just clean the brush head more, and find a gentler cleanser.  Oh, and I’ve had mine for about 3 months or so, using it pretty regularly once a day, before bed.

@BoiledPNut:  If you are undecided, buy it at Sephora. They have a generous return policy.

I bought one brand new unopened on Craigslist for $60. I love it. It really makes my face smoother than anything! I’ve tried the cheaper knockoffs and they don’t even come CLOSE! If you feel your skin is drying out, stop using such a harsh cleanser and use the Clarisonic less frequently.

I read this notoriously cheapskate girl’s review, and if she spent the money on it and liked it, I decided that it must be really good. Plus all the women at Macy’s, Ulta and Sephora swear by it. So does my Mother-In-Law.

Review of the Clarisonic Mia Facial and Body Cleansing Brush

Just my 2 cents 🙂

I have the Clarisonic Mia 2 and purchased it at Nordstrom for about $145 I think. I was skeptical about it but bought it anyways and I LOVE IT! It is a gentle exfoliant and combined with facewash (which you apply to either your face or the brush) your skin will be radiant and reduce breakouts within a few weeks. I would highly recommend it.

I have one and LOVE it! I bought mine from the dermatologist, and my HSA covered it. I’ve found that if I don’t use it religiously (twice per day) then I break out. The soap that I use with it is Aqua Glycolic, I’ve never tried the Clarisonic line–and I also use Dermalogica exfoliant daily.
