I am thinking of purchasing a clarisonic. I have read reviews and it seems great for all skin types. I do have sensitive skin but the pores and blackheads on my face are getting awful, has any Bee’s used it and want to tell me their input towards it? THANKS!

Honestly, save your money. I got one after much excitement and hoopla. I have not noticed a difference in my skin at all. Yes, right after you use it your skin feels very clean but not anything an exfoliating wash and a washcloth or facial brush won’t accomplish. I have not noticed a change in my skin otherwise. If anything I’ve noticed more breakouts (not sure why).
I would definitely not buy it again.

I actually really like mine. It helps especially in the winter when I tend to get dry skin.
I think people commonly complain about how they break out after using it but the same is true for almost any new skin care regimine. When you first start using it it’s going to pull everything to the surface – so you may break out more in the first couple of weeks BUT if you stick with it, it’ll make a positive difference.
The other thing to do is to not over-exfoliate your skin by using harsh cleansers with it (I use philosophy) so you’re not drying out your skin and cause more issues. Also if you find that it’s overdrying – use it once a day instead of twice.
My skin feels amazing after using it, so smooth. I also feel like when I do get a blemish (because of hormones) it doesn’t last as long and it doesn’t get as bad.
If you want to try it I’d suggest buying from Sephora – as you can return anything you don’t like for any reason (there may be a time limit on it).
Clarisonic Face Brush and Breakouts – Is it just me?

I got mine in January. I was warned I would breakout pretty bad the first month because your skin is purging. I found that to be true. But after a month I have seen great results. I also rub pure coconut oil into my face afterwards. Overall, I love it.
Here are my two cents:
- your skin will feel raw the first week until you get used to it. use it once a day at most.
- use it in the shower. let your face steam and moisten for a while and then scrub. i usually do it towards the end of my shower.
- twist off the brush head and thoroughly rinse the brush and inside of the machine before each use. my breakouts reduced drastically after i started doing that.
- expect breakouts the first month to six weeks. apparently your skin is releasing a ton of stuff during this time.
- my pores are wayyyyy smaller now after about 2 months…probably bc all the stuff that got pulled out of my pores.
- Fiance says my skin feels way softer and smoother.
- i use cetaphil face wash – the soapy kind, not the creamy kind – and it seems to work the best for me with this machine. I tried various cleansers.

Ok About the Clarisonic.
It is true that some people do not have a good experience with it, but I am not one of those people. I LOVE my clarisonic. I personally no longer have active pimple acne, just a major problem with black heads and clogged pores. If I just wash my face, it ends up being bumpy with whiteheads and blackheads. This last round of treatment involved differin, again, and I’ve been using differin for a year. At first, it makes your skin break out, but then your skin will usually settle down and gradually get better and better. For some reason, the differin just wasn’t doing it for me anymore. So I added the Clarisonic. It was too much! It’s winter and it was just too much for my skin to deep cleanse it with the clarisonic and use the differin. So I quit using the Clarisonic. Then my skin wouldn’t I stop being irritated from the differin and I decided that I needed a better way to control my skin. So…. I stopped using the differin and put the clarisonic back into my skin care routine. I have used it once a day for a month now and my skin looks better than when using the differin! There is less irritation AND less blackheads! There was a slight increase in nasties but that has stopped.
Some people, like myself, have clogged pores, but can’t handle rough exfoliation! Scrubs are generally too harsh for me! The clarisonic I have has 3 speeds and also came with a body brush. I have to say also, that my boyfriend has those red bumps on his arm that are a protein buildup, but not pimples. When he uses the body brush everyday in the shower, the red bumps are greatly reduced to be almost nonexistent. I’m trying to get him to start using the brush again, he’s just a little lazy!

I love my Clarisonic! I have oily skin that is acne prone during the week before my period. Because my skin is a slightly darker tone, I also had a lot of problems with leftover marks from acne that took a long time to fade. The Clarisonic has helped so much! I use it once a day with a mild salicylic acid foaming cleanser. Yes, I did break out in the beginning, mostly on my chin, which is where I would typically break out anyway. But once that initial breakout faded away, my skin has never looked better. It is clearer, more even, my pores are smaller, and it’s baby smooth.
I went back to get my second facial and the facialist was amazed at how much my skin had improved since the first one– thanks to the Clarisonic! I even asked a dermatologist about it, and she’s a big Clarisonic fan too. Overall, I think it’s great for people with skin (like mine) that can handle it. Plus, it’s a little treat in the shower that makes me feel like I’m pampering myself. I highly recommend!
