I am planning on incorporating mason jars at my wedding. It’s a rustic, vintage, southern wedding all outdoors. I am planning on putting battery operated tealights and a bit of moss in each jar. Instead of purchasing a bunch of jars we are using CLASSICO pasta jars (saving our jars). Has anyone else done this at their wedding? Did anyone notice they were pasta jars? Thoughts and advice? Thanks In Advance

I doing the same thing. Not just my Classico jars, but salsa jars, beer bottles, any kind of fun bottles I can save up. The best thing though is the salad bar where I work is saving up their gallon sized glass jars for me that they get the olives out of. I already have 13 of those. Its taking up a lot of space but I know its gonna look awwwwwesome at the wedding.

I love their jars. I didnt use them for the wedding. but I keep them around for storage in my cupboard. I think it’ll be fine for the wedding though, sounds perfect for your theme.

@caizn, thatll look so awesome! You are so lucky that you have access to something like that. @pinkshoes I love their jars too. I saw another post about a bride using them and after pricing out how many I’ll need it just wasn’t worth it. AND my bridesmaids are saving theirs too so hopefully we’ll have a ton.

We totally did this! Salsa jars for the flowers, and pasta sauce jars for the candles. My hubby went through about 3 jars of each a week before I moved in, so we had a ton. There was no way I was going to pay for vases when we had all of those available.
I have no idea if anyone noticed that they weren’t mason jars…I really wasn’t concerned about that at all.

I just wanted to say this is a really, really good idea and I just might steal it!

Thanks guys! @cleve_girl01 your jars look so pretty. The Classico pasta has are actually atlas mason jars and they say so on the sides which I thought was really neat. I also really like Classico pasta sauce especially the roasted poblano alfredo, so that helps. I would love to see pictures of othe brides that used their saved jars at their wedding.

We did mason jars, but after our wedding I was making pasta one night and thought of how cool it would have looked if we had just used Classico jars. I think it will be great. 🙂

- Wedding: June 2012 - Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards
I use them to store my paint. 🙂
We’ve been saving them for “take home” vases since the arrangements at the wedding will be in our florist’s vases.
