I wouldn’t consider those claw prongs. 🙂

Not every jeweler can execute truly nice claw prongs.  And, no, those are not claw prongs.  Perhaps you should take several photos of how you’d like them to look?

Nope not claw prongs. Here is a good example of them (not my ring)

They are too.. short? I can’t quite describe what is off but they definitely aren’t right. Here are my claw prongs from Joseph Schubach Jewelers

They are really just slightly pointy prongs. They just filed down the prongs they had already made, so they are triangular vs. claws. Claw prongs are much thinner a bit longer.

Mine is the top ring and the rest are made by the same designer (TheGemstoneProject, who mostly uses David Klass as her bench). The top ring is an OEC, so the prongs have more of an angle than a modern brilliant.

nfran :  I have a ring with claw prongs (made by David Klass).  I’ve attached a pic, but the prongs seem longer and thinner than those on your ring.

I think your ring looks beautiful though.  It has such nice proportions 🙂  Could you tell me the carat sizes and your ring size?

they kind of look like a cross between a claw prong and a rounded prong. Still a beautiful ring though!!

nfran :  Where did you order your ring from? Your inspiration is from Moissanite Co and it a semi custom and one of my very favorites on the Bee! I actually almost ordered tbat exact ring when we were shopping.

It looks like cross between round and class. Some sort of hybrid prong! I’d send it back for what you asked for. its a pretty ring though!

No, I would not consider those to be claw prongs. Sorry bee! It is a beautiful ring, I’d send them a picture of the type of prongs you are going for and have them try one more time. They might have to re-tip them, but they didn’t do it right the first time so that is on them.

Like other bees have said, I wouldn’t consider your prongs to be claw prongs. I will say though that your ring is stunning even with the more rounded claws. Maybe you can give them one more chance to fix it? If they know you’re still unhappy then maybe they’ll be more likely to try to give you exactly what you want so that they don’t risk you wanting to return the ring/ask for your money back. Here’s a picture of my claw prongs by the way!
